Domain 2: The Classroom Environment
The classroom environment domain consists of the relationships
developed by interacting with students, volunteers, and
paraprofessionals in order to bring about a highly effective program
that showcases the performance of student achievement. In
creating a lesson in collaboration with another teacher, attention
must be given to every detail of classroom delivery including
content, materials needed, equipment, and assessment of both the
students and informal feedback from the collaborating teacher.
This document is a planning guide used in the collaboration
process to anticipate the needs of the lesson. (Click here for the
Lesson Planning Guide.)
Another aspect of this domain is the accessibility of the items. The
OPAC must be easy for students to understand and retrieve items.
Items that are a part of the OPAC must use MARC tags and AACR2
desriptions. This document show how these two system work
together to produce helpful and search-friendly information. (Click
here for the document on MARC and AACR2 descriptions.) This
PowerPoint lesson shows students how to use an OPAC to find
information as part of a scavenger hunt. (Click here for the
PowerPoint OPAC lesson.)
