Purpose and Use
The purpose of this document is to highlight my skills and experience
acquired through the Mansfield University's School Librarian Masters Degree
Program.  Skills that were mastered include the areas of planning and
preparing, the media center and school environment, delivery of services,
and professional responsibilities. Evidence of mastery of these areas can be
found attached to the respective web pages.   My diversified experience can
be seen throughout my curriculum vita which highlights my varied internships
including in school, public, university, and presidential/historic libraries.
Along with these varied venues, I also have a variety of job responsibilities
from inventory to directing programs to public relations to cataloging and
many other roles that a library media specialist must master.

This electronic portfolio will be used to augment my current teaching portfolio
as well as assisting in securing future roles within the field of library science.
The portfolio will show how I have integrated my information science and
researching skills along with my teaching career.  Some instances of how my
teaching has been enhanced through my course work as a school library
media specialist are the following:
        Grant writing for academic programs
Research projects which incorporate information literacy skills
Creating web pages and search portals for student use
Reading program for science students to build vocabulary.
Students reap the benefits of having a science teacher who is trained in critical thinking as well as subject matter, presentation abilities, and
technological skills.
