Welcome to A Science
Vacation

STEP 1. Choose a topic (10 points)
Download the document "Finding a Topic" by clicking
on the hyperlink text above. Fill in the document while
completing the searches outlined on this web page.
Choosing a topic is the hardest step. You want
something that you can talk about for 3 minutes but
short enough to fit in the same amount of time. There
are several tools to help you take a topic and narrow it
down.
Type in "Science" in the subject directory Librarian's
Internet Index. On this page or the Librarian's Internet
Index page, click on SCIENCE. From this list you can
choose an area of science that interests you.
The only limit is that you cannot choose any life
science or natural science topics (save those ideas
for next year when you will be taking biology).
Click on a subtopic that interests you then notice on
the left side there is a list of even further refined
subtopics for you to choose from. In the end you
should find a topic that has enough information that
you can cover the entire overview of the history of the
topic in a 3-minute presentation. This will probably
lead you to click on several subtopics before you get
your topic narrowed enough for this activity.
